Steve and Hira were looking for intimate wedding venues in Chicago when they came across The Ashbury and fell in love. The couple knew they wanted to have a small wedding so that they could create an intimate atmosphere where they could spend time with their family and friends. The Ashbury was perfect for that while also giving them the backdrop to bring their dark and moody vision to life in a loft-style venue. We loved seeing how Steve and Hira made the space their own at this beautiful winter Indian wedding!

For their intimate winter wedding, Hira wore a beautiful blue lehenga with gold details. She carried a bouquet of white roses interlaced with white stems to add a unique touch. Steve wore a navy blue sherwani with white pants. We loved how the couple’s outfits complemented each other perfectly. The couple got married at night so the photographer relied on different lighting setups to get the perfect pictures of the couple. We loved how moody they turned out!

Intimate Wedding Venues in Chicago: Ceremony Spaces

When looking at intimate wedding venues in Chicago, Steve and Hira knew they wanted a dark and moody winter wedding with pops of white throughout. To bring that to life at The Ashbury, the couple chose a navy blue curtain with a white hexagon arch for their ceremony backdrop. The arch was intertwined with white stems and had white bead garland hanging down. We loved the way they used blue uplighting to highlight the arch. They also had two white chairs and acrylic pillars white white candles at the spot where they exchanged vows in a traditional Indian ceremony.

Dark and Moody Reception

For their reception, the couple carried over the dark and moody winter theme. For the tables, they chose black runners which were topped with stems, twigs, and white candles. They also had black plates with black napkins and silverware which looked so incredible when paired with their white welcome notes. The couple also had a black cake with gold and white accents which was placed on a table decorated with baby’s breath and white candles.

We loved seeing how Steve and Hira’s intimate winter wedding came to life. We thought the dark and moody details looked incredible in our loft-style venue, especially at night.
